Greetings all

My buddy is trying to set up for camping off his Triumph Tiger and is trying to figure out how to get his C Pap set up for running off of batteries. Wondering if anyone has figured this out yet?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Can you let us know what brand of machine he is using? The setup depends on the electrical requirement of the specific machine. Philips Respironics runs on 12 volt power, and Resmed on 24 volt DC power. There are relatively lightweight and efficient li-ion batteries that will provide up to 2 days of use on CPAP without the humidifier, however the best systems depend on what is needed.

Lots of information in the ADVrider thread https://advrider.com/index.php?threads/cpap-is-my-adv-life-over-no.825663/

My Bi-Pap will run on both 110 & 12, I run it on the original battery from my 07 FJR. I just have a Pos & Neg running to it to keep it charge.Just have to remember to turn of the humidifier or it will blow the fuse.

Thanks guys, he will be buying a whole system for our trip to

Alaska in 2019, so at this point, everything is on the table

If you have a Resmed machine, the BIXpower 159 watt-hour battery on Amazon will include all needed adapters including both AC and DC recharging adapters https://www.amazon.com/BiXPower-Capacity-Watt-hour-Rechargeable-CP170-S10/dp/B074R1ZGJD/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503842489&sr=8-1&keywords=159+watt+hour+Resmed+Airsense

For Philips, the Poweradd Pilot Power 32000 has all adapters, but will need a DC charging adapter. https://www.amazon.com/Poweradd-Pilot-Pro-Smartphones-Chromebook/dp/B00DN0KBXU/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1503842596&sr=1-1&keywords=poweradd+pilot+32000 There is also a CP-190 battery that would have several days of capacity and probably highr reliability. https://www.bixpower.com/product-p/bat-cp190.htm

These are very compact systems, fast to recharge and have been demonstrated in running CPAP and BiPAP without humidifiers. If you really are able to lay out the big bucks, the Philips Respironics Go Auto portable CPAP with a battery pack would be the choice for small format all around. https://www.google.com/search?q=philips+respironics+go+auto&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I also use a CPAP and was looking for options when I camp. At the time a battery option was out of my budget. My doctor suggested I try Provent Sleep Apnea Therapy https://www.proventtherapy.com/. He gave me several samples to try which I used for an upcoming trip. I was very happy with the results. Since then I use Provent anytime I travel both camping and motel.

For me Provent works, but everyone is different.

As everyone is different, I use breath right strips and mouth piece that pushes my lower jar slightly forward.

On the other hand, I am following this thread as I have been researching other options such as a solar charger and battery. People that boondock RV do this on a larger scale.
