there is a lot to be said for old school - map and sticky dots.
a helpful thing would be to use your mapping program to find stuff that you don't know location. THEN put it on your map. Or indicate on a mapping program.
Stand back - get the overall feel for what you just marked and perhaps what you think you can make. THEN - and only then commit to the gps. Not sure you even needed a gps for this rally as most things were pretty well marked. This time you took to load took away from your planning. I know I have done the same thing.
I'm also not sure about gerlach between the 2nd and 3rd CP's. Perhaps you could have, but I think it would have been better to do it after the 3rd cp.
