As many already know, I embarked on an solo road trip to Calgary and points inbetween. I pulled out of San Jose at about 7:30 am on 8/18. With a campground secured at Del Norte, I was on my way.

First stop, the Golden Gate

Dino's at a nursery on 1. They did some nice work on them.

A bit farther down the road I ran into a herd of elk.

Mystery Trees in Ca. They were closed when I got there unfortunatly.

Destination 1. I arrived at 7:30pm and the ranger keosk was due to close at 7:45! Wheew, just made it!

It was sprinkling as I made camp for the night, and about 1/2 an hour later it was like someone urned on the shower. It rained the whole night, and 1/2 way thru Or.

A strange site to see along a road miles from water. Thats a real steel ship turned into a gift shop

Part way thru Or, I hit the Prehistoric Guardens. Wierd place, but cool in its own rights. Apperently these are full scale Dino's made out of concrete.

Next stop, McMinville and the Evergreen Aviation Museum to check out the Spruce Goose, damn that thing is HUGE!

They even had an SR71 tucked under the wing of the Goose.

On to Seattle to spend a couple days with my Brother and some friends up there. Puget sound sunsets are hard to beat.

Canadian Customs. They actually let me cross! :p

Ran across this in BC somewhere. I missed the sign stating what it was tho. Definatly wierd in my eyes tho.

BC is just HUGE. The pics don't do justice to the scale of the place. My awe meter went haywire

I hit Golden around 8:30 and tried to secure a hotel room. They wanted $150 a night! Nutz. So I called ahead to a friend in Calgary and decided to push on the last 200 or so km to Calgary. Calgary at night is beautiful.

The next day my friends and I caged it back to Banff to check out the sites I missed on the way thru.

Canadas idea of a waterfall.

If he only knew I'd been doing a buck-30 thru parts of BC and AB the night before... Those Hella FF50's and Garaulds brackests paid for themselves this trip!

I heard about a heat wave entering the soutwestern states, and since heat and I arn't such good friends, I opted to clip the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas from my trip and head home instead. I'll hit those on another trip. I crossed Utah and Nevada at night and wound up home day before yesterday. Worn out but happy for the trip. I saw more than the 1000+ pictures I took could ever portray. I did learn a few things tho. The stock seat suxs, Wild Bill pegs are my next farkle, and damn I need a GPS :p The bike ran great the whole trip. Only had to shut it down once in Glacier. I'd do the trip again in a heartbeat B)

I want to zip on up to Banff so bad!!! You aren't making it easier on me Silent ;)

Do i have plans this weekend?

Do it! You know you want to :p

What camera were you using?
I was using a Nikon D50 Digital with an 18-55mm lense. I took well over 1000 pics B)

Glad you all enjoyed the writeup. If you're thinking about the great white north, DO IT! It's a once in a life time trip that I'll have to do again in a year or two B) Definatly need to tweek the bike a bit first tho

Are you back or writing from the road? Anyway, great pictures! Great write-up! Great trip! I look forward to riding together again soon.
Yup, been home a few days now. You know how good of friends heat and I are  Heard about a heatwave heading into the south western states and opted to clip the trip short. I'll do the southern bit on another trip. I had a blast :yahoo:

Excellent write-up, Senor Silent !!

Looks like the bus buffed out ....... :D

And now there's another trip I have to do ...... I gotta retire just as soon as I hit the lotto. I'm jealous.
