I don't have the document with me (left at work) but a couple of highlights from the new laws concerning holders of commercial licenses:

If I get a second speeding ticket for 15mph over the speed limit, they suspend my license (and my 23 year career comes to an end). Has anybody here never broken that law? I may have to sell the FJR and get a Harley.

For my first ticket (for anything), unlike the dipshit cage drivers with EZlicenses, I am not allowed to clear it by going to traffic offender school. So, my insurance rates immediately go up, unlike the previously mentioned DCD's.

I'm thinkin' I should get a huge break on my insurance premiums until I get that first ticket, but you think that will ever happen? :angry03:

When I was a young driver I lived near the border of a neighboring state. Did most of my crazy things on the other side of the border. Still had to pay the judge but it didn't show up on my driving record in my home state.

How the hell could such an unfair law get passed? Wasn't anybody watching?

***** lawmakers. Happily, I just dumped my class A license, so I'm clear. :p

those days are over. States share. Why? Insurance companies spend more on lobbying than any other industry.

Oregon passed new speeding laws for 2006: "Senate Bill 568 allows courts to suspend a driver’s license for up to 30 days for motorists convicted of driving more than 30 mph faster than the speed limit or by going 100 mph or faster. The conviction must take place after Jan. 1, 2006." They also included a $1,000 fine. Hello, Mr. Valentine? I know my next farkle.

Hello, Mr. Valentine? I know my next farkle.
I hear ya. I'm actually thinking of getting one for each vehicle. Eve's Camry has no cruise (installed yet, still sitting in the farkle box :erm: ), and on a past solo trip down south it was documented that she 'crept' up to 89 mph. But it's okay, she did the traffic school thing. :angry03: That incident was the reason I bought two CC units. They just aren't very effective until you install them.

Really? Even more than the petroleum & tobacco boys, and mine own public safety unions, the Governator's sworn enemies? If that's true, then they must make more than most industries. Which, in my twisted way of thinking, leads me to believe they charge too *&$%ing much! I know that I could have made much more as an insurance salesman, once I got over the stress of selling fear.

I have a dream where the insurance industry becomes non-profit, just covers costs and actually provides funding for emergency services, since we're the ones who do the dirty work of limiting losses. Then I wake up. And ride my motorcycle. :D

Can you imagine what the public liability insurance for oil compinies, oil drilling platforms, and such are like?

And tobacco companies, public liability insurance

Insurance companies are evil. Law firms and insurance companies, children of satan, here to destroy the planet earth.

Yeah, I have that dream as well

I used to have similar worries untill I gave myself a Lobotomy.
Now I don't worry about anything.
I tried that once but got confused. Instead of a frontal lobotomy I got a bottle in front a me.
