I really REALLY REALLY like the footage in the first video. The speeded up part detracts from the second.

Fantastic choice of music. The Chantays rocked. It would have been completely wrong with anything else...

So, I have to ask... having never ridden either, how is the notorious Dragon any better than this?

Clan gather?
Maybe... Between 190, 155, 178, Caliente Bodfish, Kern River Highway, Sherman's Pass and great base camp near Lake Isabella, that could make for a memorable weekend. New tires only need apply!

Paging Barabus, Mr. Barabus... Please pick-up the nearest, white courtesy phone.

We are too late for that this year. I bet they are snowed in at the passes now. Let it rain and snow. We need it.

But next year Fairview Campground and McNally Steakhouse before it gets too hot.

Them's the Ventures playin' and The Dragon has nuttin' on this road.

Oh, damn. Well I thought the Chatays wrote pipeline. [edit] I figured out they did.

Now that you mention it the Ventures version seems crisper. So who owns it?

Maybe...

someday...

...run the dragon and then slab out to CA 190. What an adventure that would be.

Rogdeb & I, at the suggestion of Walt Fulton, did Caliente-Bodfish to 158 to Hwy 99 on our way back from the Streetmasters workshop 2 years ago. Anyone who lives in that area and doesn't ride those roads is really missing out.

Hwy 158 over to Isabella and back would be a great day trip for Fresno or Bakersfield riders.

Hmmmmm, I've always wanted to get back down there and ride that area. I spent many weekends at Lake Isabella while stationed at China Lake Naval Weapons Center.

If we could all just live in sunny California. Great video. And the audio makes a fellow want to get some Leo Vinces. They sound great.

Where do you put the mic?
Believe it or not, I have it tucked in the tank bag, wrapped in a cloth to cut unwanted noise, like wind, farts, etc.

twowheelnut: Very, very nice video; Thank You! There is wet stuff falling from the sky here in Phoenix today, not sure what it is, but it was great to ride along with you on Highway 190. My hometown is Morro Bay, California so I have had the opportunity to ride this route many times before. Part Two definitely looked like Richard Fairlaner's normal speed!

Anyway, I'd been intending to do this ride for a while with O'vale, so these are dedicated to his spirit. And yeah, Part II is where I pretended I was trying to catch O'vale on up ahead. Don't try this at home.
Fixed it for ya. Man, you got mad skilz!

 Thanks, Toe. Humor really is the best medicine!

Thanks for posting that TWN. The first video lulled me into serenity, the second 'bout made me puke. :bad:

Great stuff.

Curious....
Was that a mostly 2nd and 3rd gear road for the FJR ?

Have you tried it on your suzy ?

On a thumper ?
Yep. 2nd and 3rd. A few 1st gear hairpins and 4th gear straights in the mix, too. And I rode it this spring on the Wabs. Holy ****, that was fun if a little underpowered for squirting from corner to corner.
