Today in Palmdale, California "The Singing Road" was voted on to be silenced!
Yep, Ave. K in Palmdale, CA. used to be a drawing card to travellers, but it will become like all other roads as soon as the City sends out it's crew to re-pave it.
Apparently, Ave. K had harmonic grooves pre-programmed into its original casting (concrete tarmac), and if a motorist reached 55 mph while rolling over it, the road would play for you the William Tell Overture.
