I got all the seals shipped to my door for $80.00 from: https://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/2004/FJR1300+-+FJR1300S/FRONT+BRAKE+CALIPER/parts.html (they've been around awhile, just changed names)

Before replacing them, I cleaned them, they really weren't dirty or leaking at all. That lasted a little while, then they started dragging again. I suspect the rubber after time, hardens up and doesn't retract the pistons as they do new. Yamaha recommends replacing them every two years. I got 5 years out of mine before they wouldn't retract...

 
So Skooter, do you pop your pistons out and clean them?
Nope. Only if something is really wrong. As I said above, I don't even bother cleaning them anymore but once in a blue moon.
I re read your post, so you're "'exercise' the pistons" is a basic cleaning I guess, and a chance you are willing to take. Cool.
