I called 2 shops today to get prices just to see what I was saving by doing it myself.

I am only doing the front going from the 3 lines to the 2.

A local Harley/Yamaha/BMW dealer where a good friend works which you would think because they are a Harley shop would charge. Well, they quoted me 1 hour at $80. I was very surprised as just about anything is at least 1.5 hours.

I then called the dealer where I bought the bike whom I really haven't had a good experience with the Service Department ever. They will never get my work but I wanted to compare one more thing to add to my list as to why I don't like them. They took a while to get back to me with the question is it integrated or not. I didn't even know what this meant but they said if it was they wouldn't even touch it and if it wasn't it was 3 hours. What a freaking joke...

If they have to ask if it's integrated, you do NOT want them doing it!!!

They should have asked if it's ABS. THAT should cost a damn fortune. I've been quoted 250-400 for the labour on mine. I is gonna do it myself the next time I get enough snow to keep me off the road. Done them before, just none this complex. But hell, $400 is a new farkle or two! ;)

Yea, the Harley dealer asked about ABS and made since.

When the pure Yamaha dealer asked about something that was completely off base I really just added a few more notches to my opionion..

This is the same dealer that when I took my VStar in to just have a mechanic listen to the cams that I had put in myself he started going into liability issues and on and on. I only wanted a professional opionion on if he thought the valve noise was more than it should have been. It took me probably an hour to convince him that he would have no liability.

I use to really like this dealer. The old Service manager put the pistons in my Vstar and was really good to deal with. This new guy seems to only be worried about CYA.

Dayum... $400 !!!! Do it yourself and buy a Russell Daylong with the money you save.
