. Funny thing though, I can't get them to the edges like the others. Musta redid the profile a bit. :dntknw:

Did you notice they put little "STORM" letters out on the edge? Maybe the adjusted the profile so you wouldn't scrub em off ;)

<slaps forehead>

Now why didn't I think of that, Rochester?

I've made it past the letters. Got about 900 on them. working on removing the "STORM"

Looking good! :yahoo:

Dat's whadd'um talkin' 'bout, Willis! Curious: Air pressure and shock set-up? Front end settings? I did make it half way into the lettering today after a, um, brisk run up Old SanMarcos Pass, Painted Cave Road and East Camino Cielo nothing higher than 3rd gear for 4 miles!:

This was done on stock shock set to hard. I have not been out since installing the Penske last week.

Air 41lbs front and rear, Front stock with 8 clicks / 3 bars. Me 230 at 6'2. I need to set up with the Penske now.

Oh, the big dif here. I'm on the mo better 06 :****:

I guess your just draggin ass rather than draggin knees, eh.

Nice roads. I need to "go west young man"

Yes, they did.

I spoke with Avon USA today about the Storms. They did indeed change the front profile of the AV55; it has a noticeably rounder profile than the AV45 did.

This marries up with a conversation I had with Gary Eagan a while ago about his thoughts on these new tires. He claimed that the profile of the front Storm was less "triangular" than the AV45, and when he mounted them on his Ducati ST 4S, a slight raise in ride height was needed. Once he did that, he said his ST's handling improved significantly.

Still waiting to mount some Storms on the Blackbird... just can't find the time to do it.... :angry:

Well, I gotta tell you that whatever changes they made, this tire rocks on this bike. I've had to reduce slightly the compression damping on the front end, but other than that, no worries. And the highway ride is best described as 'creamy'. :good:

Here's another interesting tidbit... I just check pressures for the first time this AM after reading Fencer's post above and I was down 5 in the front and 4 in the back... I could not tell any difference riding at these pressures as when aired 40/42. Normally, I can tell when the other brands are as little as 1 lb off. This, for me is a good thing because I hate to be off on the good roads between air stations, bad in that I'd better keep a more diligent eye on the pressures.
