The driver (William Crum) has multiple past convictions for vehicle offenses including "unauthorized use of a motor vehicle" (a felony), and later for a combination of reckless driving and "making a terroristic threat" for which he served 2 years in jail. In addition, William Crum has been convicted of other charges, such as assault and family violence.

Considering his past history of convictions for violent behavior and vehicle-related felonies, coupled with the video (including his post-incident statements) plus his ill-advised statements to the press, I imagine that his defense attorney will recommend that he take whatever plea deal lands on the table. I hope that the District Attorney assures William Crum his right to a speedy trial.
