I think you were just ahead of your time in preparation for when the United States starts using the metric system.
Welcome, Jerry O! Glad you got that issue sorted out, and relatively painlessly.

Now if we could just get this country to adopt the metric system. But I fear that won't happen any time soon. Can you imagine what would happen to the diet industry if folks stepped on the scale and saw that they weighed only 60% of what they weighed yesterday?

Where would it stop?

"Give them 2.54cm and they'll take 1500km."
Actually closer to 45% of their weight.

1500m, not km (actually ~1609.34 meters)

So, I'm an asshole

You were just raised in a country where you speak MKS instead of Imperial. You also have the same disease that mcatrophy has, with a symptom that express itself as being pedantic

My formative years predate MKS in Canada, for the most part. The changeover started in the early 70's and was a bit of a gradual process. I am pretty much "bilingual" for most units although small weights and volumes make far more sense to me in grams (or milli/micro/nano) and millilitres than in ounces (weight or fluid). This is more a function of my occupation as a chemist.

Huh? Me? Pedantic? Never.

Anyway, I'm so old that, along with chains, rods and poles, I was taught cgs units, none of this new-fangled MKS stuff.

Now for the second dumbest question. Is this a Gen1 thing as I don't recall this ever happening to me. then again I never change the time on the feej.

Dave

Gen I, not Gen II. Dunno about Gen III.

No worries!

Since we only spend about 6-8 weeks/year in Europe, I tend to go with "horseshoes and hand grenades" estimates - and embarrass my bride a lot. Though she's okay with the simple "*F = (*Cx2)+30" since it doesn't involve any fractions. Not accurate, but close enough to know if she'll need a sweatshirt, or shorts.
