Can the 320mm brakes/rotors bolt on to a 03 FJR?

The 03 FJR has 289 mm rotors and brakes. The 04 on up FJR has 320 mm. Is it a simple swap to upgrade the 03 to 04 brakes/rotors?

Best guess would be a fork change as well.

I'm with Kaitsdad, I think you would have to swap forks or manufacture new mounts/adapter brackets for the calipers.

320mm is the rotor diameter (~12.6 inches)

320mm vs 289mm is about 1.2 inches larger.

IF the larger rotors have the same bolt pattern (which on my 05 Non ABS is ~6 inches center of bolt to bolt) the larger rotors would be pushed ~.6 inches further into the caliper using the stock caliper mounts.

I can't imagine there is that much room to play with inside the brake pad/caliper area for a 1/2 inch+ adjustment.

All a guess on my part but I hope that helps.

Best bet is too find someone nearby and compare them side by side.

Yep. You'll want to find forks from an '04 or '05 so the calipers are mounted in the proper relationship with the increased rotor diameter.

I never thought about this before but you may be able to make a bracket to move the caliper slightly. There are similar kits available for older KLR-650's.
