Happy Canada Day
Evidently, crossing a border is good for a feller. At a grocery store in Nakusp, BC, I saw a sign for 'Canada Day' as being July 1st. And Mary, of Toad Rock Campground, was preparing for 1,000+ riders over the 'Canada Day' weekend.
Then today, the paper states that -
"On July 1, 1867, Canada became a self-governing dominon of Great Britain as the British North America Act took effect."
and in 1980,
"O Canada" was proclaimed the national anthem of Canada."
From Wikipedia,
"Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), is Canada's national day, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the 1 July 1867 enactment of the British North America Act, which united Canada as a single country, which was in turn composed of four provinces. Canada Day observances take place throughout Canada as well as internationally."
So, to my northern buddies and buddiettes, I will host a cold frosty from Canada and wish you a great day!
