Happy Canada Day

Evidently, crossing a border is good for a feller. At a grocery store in Nakusp, BC, I saw a sign for 'Canada Day' as being July 1st. And Mary, of Toad Rock Campground, was preparing for 1,000+ riders over the 'Canada Day' weekend.

Then today, the paper states that -

"On July 1, 1867, Canada became a self-governing dominon of Great Britain as the British North America Act took effect."

and in 1980,

"O Canada" was proclaimed the national anthem of Canada."

From Wikipedia,

"Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), is Canada's national day, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the 1 July 1867 enactment of the British North America Act, which united Canada as a single country, which was in turn composed of four provinces. Canada Day observances take place throughout Canada as well as internationally."

So, to my northern buddies and buddiettes, I will host a cold frosty from Canada and wish you a great day!

Yep. Just poured a Molson's. And many thanks again to all the CFRers for the great hospitality and wonderful time.

Cheers,

Fred

As I slurp on a can of EX, sadly staring at my bike sitting outside in the pouring rain (thunderstorms in Montreal at the moment), this cross-border salutation from the FJR group almost makes up for not being out riding right now.

So a happy 4th of July in advance, right back at all of you south of the border! :yahoo:

True patriot love

In all thy sons command.

Thanks Don and to all of our US pals for the birthday wishes.

Didn't get into any Tall Timber yesterday Wheatie, but I did have a couple of OK Springs Pale Ales at the airport waiting for my flight, then got to the hotel in Regina last night just in time to see a spectacular 20 minutes of fireworks.

We are all blessed to live in North America - word.

Enjoy your Glorious Fourth this weekend too - get out and ride like the wind!
