If you are over 50, then you must provide proof that you had a colonoscopy within the past five years. If you cannot do so, then the Canadian border agents can perform a colonoscopy curbside at the border. I say this in case some of you were considering hiding that big honking handgun in an inventive location.

No documents required. Canada is not a real country anyway.
hey, Pup ....

No, seriously. They let just about anybody in. They let me, Bugs, and Robert in, all at once, and one of us didn't even have a valid passport. Does not sound like a real country to me..

To top it all, they have washable, scratch and sniff plastic money...how much more fake can you get?

It is a fake country, they just dont know it yet..

Art - We have a Prime Minister, not a Premier. Let's not get into a leader-bashing contest. We have more ammunition.

'Chow - Mildly amusing the first time but wears a little thin pretty quickly. Or is it particularly cool to be disrespectful?

Point taken Ross. I have lived in Canada twice and having lived in Alaska and now in Montana I have crossed the border dozens of times. I have nothing but good memories of Canada and Canadians. We are fortunate to have a neighbor that shares so many of our values and tolerates our occasional misplaced humor.

All in good fun Rosskean.

No one seems to be able to take a good ribbing anymore without getting offended, or their little feelings hurt.

I had a good time in Canada, when I was there. It is a very pretty country. Would have loved to see more of it.

No offense intended. Sorry for the off-color comment.

I too like the Canadians and have spent quite a bit of time in Canada over the years. My wife retired from Air Canada after 40 years with the company.

Last time I checked we had 12 Premiers....some more premium than others.
That is comical. During the many years I traveled to Canada on business or pleasure I noticed the folks in western Canada were much more conservative and seemed to resent the influence on the government in Ottawa by the eastern providences. Later the exception was Vancouver. I suppose they were tainted by Seattle. All tolled, Canada is a great country and the people are excellent neighbors! I'll be up in B.C. and Alberta in two weeks. Keep the craft beer fresh!!

went in thru NH on a back road and they just waved me thru...getting back into USA is another story..

They're all tolled alright. That free stuff has to be paid for somehow.
Joke?

Actually very few toll highways in Canada relative to the USA.

No question that we pay for the "Free stuff" but mostly via taxation (fuel, sales and income taxes) rather than extra fees on highways and such.

Knowing that a serious health issue will not ruin me financially - Priceless!

(Note to Art - Provinces, not Providences)

Yes, the Provinces each have a Premier (roughly equivalent to a state Governor). The leader of the majority party in the Canadian Parliament is the Prime Minister - not elected separately.

We now conclude today's lesson in Canadian social studies.

I think they meant to say "all told" (not talking about tolls) ;)
Re 'free stuff' ......NOTHING is free - anywhere. And especially in Canada. Most of the providences (not you, Alberta) are absolutely hosed by taxes.

Bring on the Toll Highways ! :D
