I'll put one of those on my bike if they will put apps on cell phones that kills them if they are in a moving vehicle.

This made me realize that two of the three Facebook Groups that I belong to are FJR 1300 Enthusiasts and Whiskey, Bourbon, and Scotch Enthusiasts. Oh well, if you are going to belong to something you might as well be enthusiastic.

(BTW, while I enjoy both, it is never at the same time - never!)

This caused me concern: Retesting Issues: After the initial breath test to start the motorcycle, riders with interlocks are required to take additional breath tests while the motorcycle is in operation. This is also required of passenger vehicle operators with ignition interlocks. Performing the retests while operating a motorcycle is riskier than doing so while operating a passenger vehicle.

Well, of course it's risky to blow into a tube while riding a motorcycle! It's risky to do anything on a moving motorcycle -- including riding it down the street for a gallon of milk.

But I'll not worry. I've seen enough NHTSA safety studies that are pie-in-the-sky and have never become features for vehicles.

You blow and fill about 10 balloons before the ride. Bunch them all up and tie them on a string behind your bike and use them after every bar stop to restart it.

Cops will never figure that one out.

This study was directed at the rider that has been charged with DWI and may drive again while intoxicated.

"to reduce DWI recidivism,"

Still not sure it's an effective solution. (perhaps jail time would be more effective)

As for the comment about "saving us from ourselves", it's not about that, it's about the safety of OTHERS on the roads.
