I have 1.1 springs in the forks and weigh 220 with gear and I can't seem to get my front sag. With a Penske rear shock, I've got a 37mm rear rider sag comfortably. In order words, without having to crank a bunch or preload in. To get a matching front sag, I'm out of line on the preload adjusters.

I have no lines showing to get 37mm front rider sag. What am I missing here? It seems like I have a lot of siction in the front. I serviced my forks last week and added my new springs. Any ideas?

I've seen recommendations for 40-45mm front sag in the past. Around 35mm, and you're getting a harsh ride, off the track. Plus, you need more play in the front, to match the rear.

Put a zip tie around the front shock, and when the forks compress it will slide the zip tie up the fork, jack up the bike and measure

+1 on tie wrap.

Also, rider sag is not the only measurement. You have already replaced the spring, so hopefully you already know this, but you want to meet both the static sag and rider sag measurements. Cranking up the preload to get 37mm of rider sag is no good if that makes the static sag too small.

I'm no expert on suspension setup, but I can read pretty well.
