OK, tried searching several different ways and couldn't find the mention of a texas catheter (condom like setup) attached to a bag on the leg some LD guys were using to minimize pit stops.

I have a friend who's husband has cancer, and he won't leave the house because of "accidents". He would if I could find some of these systems. Can somebody remember the thread or who knows how to buy some?

many thanks in advance.

Medical supply stores also sell them as "Condom Catheters" or "Texas Catheters" in a few different sizes. You may also check out local home health agencies. The leg bag is low volume... only good for a few hours, but you can also purchase 2.5 liter collection bags for longer term use that WILL NOT work as a leg bag.

The largest hiccup on these medical systems is that the adhesive used to keep them in place sticks really well. You'll have to shave or be really careful when placing the catheter. It's not too painful to remove from skin, but pulling off of the pubes can be an excruciating endeavor.

You also have to make sure that they drain well. Urine on the skin will cause it to break down... don't let urine pool near the tip of your penis or over time you'll have a sore that you won't like.

Ahhh the knowledge of a nurse....

Where else, but on the FJRForum, can we get first-hand experienced descriptions of the woes associated with accidental pube removal?

You just have to love it here.

Thanks to all who responded!

I hadn't thought of medical supply stores. The entire setup from my local store varies on size needed  but you could do the whole setup for less than $20. best of all you don't need a prescription (at least in this state).

Did a search for Stadium Buddy as well for comparison and price was about $38.

As for risks of pube removal and infection, I DO appreciate the concern, and I relayed my concerns to her as well (and I am an RN). Infection is a legitimate concern, and another reason buying parts separately and "making" a system may be most hygienic.

My friend appreciated the info and thanks you all.

My avatar? Well I got tired of the goggled porcupine thing and the last one was boring. Hell if I know what this one is, but it makes me smile.....
