Well, I tried the Triple Pass Ride after the F1 race yesterday, but only made it as far as the Chinook Pass Summit.
Road was clear and wet w/ only a couple very small patches of slush in the East bound lane until the summit.
As I reached the top all I could see on the downhill was compact snow. So I turned around and pulled into the viewpoint and sat there for a few minutes, amused by the looks I was getting. I was tempted to continue, but not knowing whether I was confronted by 40 - 50 yards or a couple miles of the slick stuff, decided that "descretion is the better part of valor" and headed back east.
Probably won't get another shot at it this year, but will keep an eye on the road conditions and might try again.
