Well ... It only took me almost a year to get this posted, but here is a detailed ride report from my buddty Jim, on our CCC100 last April. ( Coast to Coast to Coast in under 100 hours).

Along with his excellent write-up, I added some of my own comments along the way, and some thoughts on the FJR.

What a fun read - and it's a good thing that posting your RR isn't a prereq for the cert, huh?

What an adventure! Thanks for the write up. I'm toying with doing a 50cc, and then taking my time coming back. Caught a few pointers from your tale, so thanks again!

Well done! Nice write-up. Makes me want to do it again.

(From the first FJR rider to complete a 100CCC, SDO>JAX>SDO back in 2003)

Thanks guys, my buddy did a good job with this. I just found out that my page is ALL messed up when viewed in Internet Explorer, and a lot of the return trip is missing. It's fine when viewed in Firefox. iI've got to clean that up.

The page is fixed now should it should look decent with any browser. Pictures now show up better, and much of the our return trip through Texas wasn't showing up originally for some.

It was a lot of fun, and it's been fun going back through the notes and 'reliving' it. Makes me want to get back out on the road!

Doug, really, you were the first person to ride an FJR on a CCC-100? That's cool!

Peter, I think the CCC-Gold IS the CCC-100. That's what we did, so you'll have to think of something else!

Dave have you herd of the Easy way versus the Hard way ?

It is common knowledge in the LD riding community that the easy way non Gold 50cc or 100ccc is the southern route. Your route SD to Jvill. The Hard way GOLD 50CC or 100CCC is the North route , NYC to SF or LA. Due to the additional mileage of the north route that ride becomes gold status.

So that is why I said great ride , now get off your A** and do a Gold...

:)

I believe so. You won't find a record on the IBA web site of any earlier rides coast to coast in under 100 hours on an FJR.

I rode a BBG the first day and rested outside Houston before finishing the first leg in JAX in about 36 hours. No fuel cell, running on original Pilot Roads and got a performance award near Van Horn, TX on the outbound leg. The return leg was much slower as we hit a fair amount of bad weather with massive rain/thunderstorms throughout TX, NM, AZ, and SoCal.
