Wow. Sorry about all the damage. What a close call, especially with the SO on board. Nice set of gear there - glad it all did its job for the two of you.

Say, that's an amazing amount of rash on the paint, especially considering the slider.

I'd be interested in hearing whether your insurer covers your gear, or just the bike and the accessories. My company (in Maryland), said mine was not covered because, while it kept me out of the hospital, it didn't save them any money.

Glad you are both OK. If you have to go down with a passenger with you, this sounds like it ended up about as good as you could possibly hope for. You have once again reinforced my belief in ATGATT.

Cdogman-

VERY happy to hear you and the SO are all right. Good instincts/habits ("Ride the bike") and ATGATT absolutely minimized what could have been a VERY bad day.

Thanks all

It is my first crash..on a street bike..

I have to pass out some props now

To my BRC MSF Instructor, My ERC instructor and my ST ART instructor... The books written by those I was fortunate enough to read ........... THANKS PEEPS...

My Instincts were borm from practicing your words. To you,,, I give props.. I am just the lucky SOB at the and of the day.. W/Out you peeps in my life. Coulda been toast....Easily

Time for another beer lol

Glad you are OK! Hwy 65 is a beautiful road, sorry you had to have a negative experience on it.

Glad you were an ATGATT inclined!

Robin, so glad that you and Kendra are ok - and having potroast.

You keep an eye on that lady - she's gonna be sore tomorrow.

Be safe!

EDIT:

I've got a slightly used stock windshield hanging in the garage from my 06 - it's yours for the asking, if you want a stock one. Just PM me your shipping address.

Geeze louise Robbin, Damn good to hear you're both O.K. ATGATT, not just a slogan but rule to LIVE by ! Now for the reincarnation, FJRv2 on the drawing board soon.

As the apparently 4th newest member (Oct 18th, see my Barber Motorsports thread in ride reports), I'm qualified to tell you that the the sticker is at https://www.fjrforum.com/images/crashclub.gif.

Mine was nowhere near as quick as yours, not as much sliding, but I went further to the pavement, I think. Faceplant and hard hit on my hip. Bike tried to crush my ankle, which is feeling better but still hurts. Bruises on ankle and thigh are almost faded. My insurance has already paid for the plastic and some new gear. Really can't complain, except for being gimpy for a coupla weeks.

Yea looks like a truck dropped a bag of portland and it had been run over a few times. I was definitely going to fast for the street. Feeling proud of myself and bein dumb. However, no concrete, we would have made it easy. Still a stupid move, we got away with it!!!

Where is Edwardo with that cold beer???!!!
Why is it that cage drivers never report things like this to the State Patrol uhh.

Last winter I was driving my cage on one of our local roads (509 North) when I saw two massive wooden planks (not small in length or height) across the two lane highway.

I was on the phone to WSP ASAP, fearing a cage, or even worse a biker, may hit these objects.

Cdogman, bike pictures after the "get off" made me feel sad for you, as I know how much you must like the Feejer. Hope you are able to get the damage fixed when time permits.

My CBR 1000 RR (8 weeks old) was totalled in June of this year when a cage hit me (punctured lungs etc) I am lucky to be here (BTW, wasn't my fault)

Take care both of you!

Sheesh. Glad the injuries were no worse! But, crap, there goes the exclusivity of our little club.

Glad you are well.

I had a scare today on the interstate. It was shut down due to a wreck in Scabs part of the world. I had to call him to make sure he didn't crash again

Remember. If they total the bike, grab the rear shock, and stick the stock back on.

Glad you are safe. I was out riding 2up this afternoon thinking that I should not be out in jeans (my wife was in full gear). This is a reminder that I really need to upgrade the safety gear. Hopefully Cycle port is at San Mateo.

Sounds like it was better then the high side option! Glad everyone is OK,

Ride the bike, ATGATT, and slide baby slide.
