Cee Bailey +2+2 with flip

destined for NEPRT, but I had to let everyone know about my new windshield.

Good news: It looks great, doesn't look like a barn door, and the light gray tint is perfect. Top notch quality and service from CB. I don't have to look through the shield for calm air.

The test ride was a great success, with the shield down the improvement was noticed immediately. As I raise the shield it progressively gets quieter and calmer unlike the stocker that is just loud and turbulent no matter what. I can be going much faster than I think I am now, better be careful or I will end up with a performance award.

Bad news: There is a negative pressure with the shield up that pulls my head forward a little but I can live with it considering the overall improvement it has made. There is a sweet spot about 3/4 up that is calm and doesn't pull my head.

yes, I should have included this info. I am 6' and I have my seat in the low position. With the windshield in the lowest position it feels like the air is hitting me in the nose.

I have a +2H +0W. I added 2 washers to the bottom bolts to effectively tilt the screen back a little. No negative pressure! You may want to experiment with the idea before you take the time to cut holes.

I just put on a Cee Baileys +2H, +4W, tinted, flip. Looks great. Their fit and finish is way superior to the last aftermarket windshield I bought.

Of course it will be months before I find out how it works. :angry2:

It's worth more than a try-it's the answer. Based on the Rifle shield tuner, it's worked on hundreds of tall shields. First, get longer screws-regardless of tuner depth, you want plenty of threads showing once you've found the sweet spot, good hardware store should have the correct thread with the countersunk head in stainless. Second, washers are ok, but I think you'll find you need thicker spacers to do the trick-I use a 3/8 nut at each screw on a CB +4+4. Third, use metal only-alum or steel-resist the urge to try to "cushion" things with plastic or nylon spacers-screws have broken on the bikes that these were tried on, from flexing in the mount. Fourth, the angle will end up lowing the top edge of the shield at full up, but you'll find it will totally negate the back pressure effect using one.

The Cal Sci holes seem to be much more important for Gen I bikes. For Gen II bikes, there's already designed airflow built into the bike to offset some of the negative pressure. But I also added spacers to tip my Cee Bailey +2 hi with flip shield for even better airflow management.

Hey guys, I just got done with my first ride of the season here in MN. I'm the first bike I've seen this year. it was 39 degrees! So nice. Anyways I went for a ride because I just installed my Vstream shield. It is great, but there is some back pressure, although not so much as stock. It gets really quiet about 3/8s of the way up on the highway! I am thinking about trying the spacers to see if that will let some more air in underneath the shield to reduce the back pressure.

Thanks for posting. That is exactly the windshield I am thinking about getting. It is about third on my list behind heli-bars and a throttlemeister.

gotta be careful though as I am not sure how far I can push this farkling thing before the wife starts buying jewelry!

Thanks for the compliments, and yes that is a throttlemeister with the scalloped finish.

As for the shield, I have found on further testing that I still like the shield better than the stocker, but am still curious to try a Calsci to see how it compares. I think that the +2 would be good for your height. I don't think you would get much cooling air with a higher shield when the temps rise. I may cut down my stocker like others have done for the summer.

I moved my seat back to the high position due to the new shield. At the uppermost position I see thru the C.B with room to spare and lower positions are good also. The thing I've observed is I have noticeably more turbulence especially on the left hand and some extra on the right too. I rode in cold a.m. temps and warm afternoons and seem to still notice with two styles of riding gloves tried. Maybe 3 days ain't enough, but sure seems that way?

This is my observation but mainly to see if anyone else has seen that with a Cee Bailey in any configuration?

I just got mine and it is also +4t and +2w.

Took it out for the first time yesterday and was just stunned at how quiet everything got when it was about 1/3 up. No turbulence at all. None on my helmet and none on the gloves.

I'm 5'9" and I approved this message.
