Cee Bailey's +2" windshield whistles on '06

I'd like to first introduce myself. My name is Scott and I've been lurking for a about 4 months now. I purchased my very first brand spanking new o6' FJR 1300A one month ago today. I must say that I love this bike. So far I've installed my Garmin SPIII GPS, XM Roady2, Grip Puppies, Vista Throttle lock, Corbin Seat and passenger backrest, and lastly a Cee Bailey's +2" windwhield.

I like everything I've done so far, however, the Cee Bailey's windshield makes an annoying whistling noise when its not in the full down, or the full up position. I called the company and didn't really get much help. I'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem and if so, what they've done to correct it.

So, you didn't notice a whistle with the stock window? Most everyone who has purchased an 06 has a whistle eminating from under the "W" window bracket. Check out the search feature on the board probablly under -(whistle "fix") and you will start to find what others have done to eliminate this problem.. Oh, and welcome aboard. But watch out there are some on here who will lead you astray and cause you to do all sorts of bad things that we can't really talk about....PM. <>< :lol:

No, I did not notice any whistling from my stock windshield. One of the things on my stock windshield that's missing from the Cee Bailey's is a thin piece of foam between the windshield and the mount. I'm going to try to take this off of my stock windshield (however, I have my doubts that it'll come off in one piece) and install it on my new one. If I'm unsuccessful, I'll try and find a replacement material that will do the same thing. Thanks for the advice.

Woody..I had the same whistling noise on my stock and Cee Bailey's windshield,I bought a small roll off Scotch mounting tape it's 1/6 inch thick X 3/8 inch wide and cut it in 1/8 inch strips then cut to fit under the windshield on the metal mount and the top of the windshield and the plastic.The wind comes threw the layers.Just put the tape on the bottom,don't take the paper off, put the sticky side on the metal and the plastic not the windshield.

I have the Cee Bailey +2 on my '06 - no whistle at any speed.

I did similar type of fixation though as Vmaxed just mentioned above filling in some of the space which fixed the whistle on the stock shield.
