Has anyone actually gotten a Dark Grey tint, and is there any pictures....

Lookin at it, and wondering if it would be too dark to see through....

Need one a bit taller...

Unless the light tint would be enough......

thanks

I had a Rifle touring shield on mine in a light bronze tint.

While it looked pretty good in the daytime, I recently replaced it with a crystal clear, Cal Sci shield.

You should seriously reconsider a tinted screen if it's height requires you to look through it. :angry2:

I found myself riding late one night (on a 1000 mile weekend) after dark, and got caught in an unexpected and severe, persistant rainstorm. I had a choice of driving with the screen up(stay dry, yet ride with severely impaired vision), or drive with the screen lowered(soaking wet leathers and clothes, good night vision).

Obviously I chose safety over comfort on that long miserable (60 mile) return ride to the cottage that night. That pretty much clinched it for me from ever using a tinted screen or visor again.

Your choice to make.

Just my 2 cents.

I had the lite gray CB shield on my '04. The tint is VERY light, you would have to know that it was there to notice it....No problems at night or riding through rain.

But as always YMMV

Had a bronze tint on my concours looks good but to much distortion when you look through them at night or dark days......... safety vs. looks ? I prefer the clear have clear on my 05 fjr

Are there places that tint motorcycle windshields? Glass shop?

I just replaced my stock screen with Yamaha's 4" taller screen. Might be interesting to play with a tint on the shorter screen.

Tinting is really easy, I have done several cars myself, Go buy one roll and you'll have enough to do several bikes.

I did one of my cars LIMO tint. I would not reccomend it. Great in the daytime, but try backing up at night. If you do tint go light or you night time vis is screwed as has been said before.

You cannot tint plastic with regular glass tint. You will need to head down to your local autoparts store and pick up "cling film"

Guys,

The Cee Baileys site says that "bronze" tint, and it seems very light, is not recommended for night riding.

Gray is a color that does not change the colors you see when you look through it as is the case with other timt colors. I think there is another color in the sprectrum that also does not change the color of what you see.

My 2 cents.

I got the dark tint CB +4+4 for my '05. Since I'm 6-2, I tend to look over the shield rather than through it, so night vision really is not an issue at all. If I crank the shield all the way up, then I would have to stretch just a bit to see over it at night time, so I just don't run it all the way up at night. That's what adjustable windshield is all about. It's not necessary to have the shield up all the way for me to stay out of the wind blast.

The dark tint looks nice against the '05 blue color. Sorry I don't have a pic for ya. Just not a very piccy guy!
