Just found your post. Wish I could tag along. I'm a newbie feejer rider. However, tied up on Sunday mornings... I'm a Sunday School teacher. Oh well. Maybe one of these days.

Gary

Good call Ryan. After I got off the phone with you it started pouring. Hopefully everyone else got the word before leaving the house. See if we can do this on a Sat. It seems there were 2 or 3 that cannot ride on sunday.

I hope everybody got the word. Need to exchange some phone numbers.

We could reschedule for Sept 4th.

Myself, fljab and rz350 (the Central Florida Riders Group...Hardcore Division) made it to meeting place #1 on time and were ready for KSU at 8:30. We were without a local guide, but we pushed on and had a good ride with no rain. An exchange of phone numbers and email addresses would be a good idea though so that, in the future, we could notify the lightweights that they might get their pretty bikes wet. :) Sorry Nic, but you are going to have to live with this for a while. Just kidding with ya!

Rain Smain, glad you all rode. Put me in for the next one.

Next month's ride will be a little more fun... Knoxville!!!

101, you're in there!!! Sept 4 I will be in the Smokies on the MTF ride (I might get wet on that one too!)

Yes, we need to exchange phone #'s! I don't normally check my email before leaving early like this (left the house @ 0530).

I personally am not afraid of a little rain barring intentionally riding in a hurricane, but as for the odd thunderboomer, well, this is Florida!!!! Into every life a little rain must fall!! We only hit sprinkles a few times today. Jeez, put a FJR sticker on your pickup and drive that; be like the HD guys...

We did manage to discover a couple of good roads on the Ehren cutoff, and CR581 N from SR 52. I missed the shortcut to Bushnell off US41 and went all the way to Floral City, then on SR48 back to Bushnell. The shortcut would've save ~30 miles I think from looking on the map. All in all a good ride. I did 318 miles total from/to my door.

Very sorry fellas. Kinda pissed I didn't go because by 9am it was clear. But it was raining pretty good here at 730 am so I thought I made a good choice.. oh well live and learn. Glad you guys found some of the roads. If you guys want to try again let me know.

Might I suggest...

You know what this picture is missing?

About 3 or 4 more riders!

Seeing those tall thunder heads looming over Tampa as we approached, I thought for sure we were going to get wet before we even hit MS#1. But the rain held off all day - well, at least while we were riding, anyway. Probably got 2" once the bike was parked back in the garage, though.

You guys missed a good ride.

2 things:

> By 0730, we had been on the road for some time;

I posted the cancellation at 6:30am and called the 2 numbers I had. I have rain gear but what's the point when you can simply go another time when it's not pouring?

Seriously, you guys might need to re-evaluate your lives a little bit and find things to do in addition to riding!

You were probably under one of those thunderstorms we were viewing from a distance!
I called Everett at 6:30am and it was looking bad at his place and it was getting ready to pour at my place. We agreed it was best to reschedule. By 6:45 it was raining a good clip. The only other phone number I had was netbuz's (Andy) so I called him as well but got voicemail so figured he left.

Since us 3 were meeting about 10 minutes from my place I headed up there in the truck and found Andy at the gas station soaking wet. Told him the ride was cancelled and we shot the **** for about 10 - 15 minutes before he headed back south.

I don't mind riding in the rain, but if it's pouring before the ride even starts I'm not interested in being soaked all day. I mean, really, I've done that ride probably 30 times so it wasn't a big deal to miss it. I really had hoped posting the cancellation by 6:30am would have got to you guys. And then PM'ing you I was hoping you guys had web phones or crackberry phones so you would get the email.

Either way, I'm sure I won't live this one down for a while and that's OK!! I'm looking forward to rescheduling if you guys would like to try it again and I'm sure I'll take a good beating.

Anybody interested in trying it out again on Sept 4th?

It figures I blow off a chance to ride because of soccer, see not a hint of rain in the morning and bake under the sun.

Oh well October will be cooler

Huh??!!

Are we on the right forum?
LOL! I forgot, you old people can usually only handle one hobby at a time!
I had your back until that last quote. Oh and I forgot you have two, boat bike
Actually 3. When it's raining, gotta lay the pipe!
