I stopped by the local Yamaha dealer and talked to the Service Manger about us being in town. He's very receptive to taking care of anyone ASAP who might need emergency service work. They would love to help out with scheduled service work also. So if your gonna need tires or an oil change call ahead. They're only about 4 miles from the hotel.

2Brothers PowerSports they've got two locations in the area their Yamaha shop is at:

1241 Oak Forest Dr.

Onalaska, WI 54650

608 785 1077

The service manager is Cory Licht.

They have another shop, that's closer to the hotel but it's their Honda dealer. This would still be a good place to pick up generic MC necessities.

No Culvers here on the left coast so I have to make up for lost calories when in the midwest.
Guess I picked a bad time (CFO) to start my diet.
When you're on a motorcycle trip, as soon as you leave your area code, the calories don't count.

I am missing CFO due to my 5 year anniversary but I just got back from 3 days riding in Lacrosse. Here is my tip, head south, take CR B, then a couple miles more south and come back to the river on CR C, then take CR 171 and hold the **** on. I think i averaged 130 on 171, brand new wide road with decent sightlines.

The guys in the kawasaki shop in lacrosse knew some great rides too! I have some videos around somewhere.

Oh and ride an hour east or so to Wildcat Mountain state park and you can throw your bike side to side as fast as you can, watch out for blind decreasing radius turns though, i was like a kid on a rollercoaster for this short ride. Then on the way back on 33 keep eyes on the GPS for great ridge runs and rides up and down the coulees. For some reason the harley guys don't know about or cannot handle the real roads in wisonsin, they stick to the bars and the highways, so the roads like B and C above are virtually free of all traffic, including cars. Watch out for amish, manure, and farm equipment though, never push it in a blind corner in WI.

Maps, maps and mo maps, we got maps :yahoo:

We will have Iowa and Wisconsin state highway maps for everyone additonally there will be Wisconsin Travelers Guides for everyone. These are Wisconsin maps with all the really important stuff highlighted, cheese shops, winerys and brewerys. Like I said the really important stuff!

The state of Minnesota wasn't as generous but if you want a MN state highway map or some other free chit you can contact them and get 2 free-beez if you want. Call 888-868-7476 or go to the Expolre Minnesota web site HERE

Well, my "On again, Off again" plan to attend CFO is OFF again. :(

You can remove my name from the registration list as this is a permenent status change.

You guys have fun and post lots of photos!

Jeff

Now that I own an FJR I thought I would start the ownership fun right away. I registered for CFO tonight and booked a room at the hotel for Friday night. :yahoo: Saturday is booked but I am hoping a cancellation opens one up. If not, maybe there is another hotel close.

I've had my 08AE for 1 week and 500 miles and loving it.

I may not make it in time for the registration deadline Friday night. Hope this is not a problem.

Looking forward to being there.

Greg

Don't worry about Friday night we'll either be in the Lounge or if the weather is nice out on the deck out back. BTW what was your food choice chicken or pork, I'm turning in the meal choices to the hotel in the morning. See you in La Crosse!
