CFO 2013 Dates are Set!

Anyone ever hit this event on different bikes? I'm planning for a '14 FJR. Wouldn't mind meeting/riding with some members. I love the area aound Lacrosse. I'm interested in attending, even though I dont have a FJR yet. I would ride my FZ, or my Wing.

I think the long standing rule is that off brand bikes buy the beer...and get to hold "said beer" whilst your off brand bike is provided for "test rides".

Definitely bring your FZ!

Bring the FZ, you'll still be welcome. Other "brands" show up on a regular bases.
I've even considered taking my Ducati.

You can't make your reservations online. We have a block of rooms reserved so the online system may show it full because we have the rooms blocked. I'll be done with school this week and plan to have more info and the web site up soon.

More info needed, please. We'll be doing our 3 USA tour in September, and may be in this area around the time of the CFO. Our touring all startrs at SLC (where our USA FJR is stored) and we're heading north through Jackson, then west to include Beartooth Pass and Chief Joseph Highway, and on to Spearfish (west of Sturgis). How far is this from your venue?

On an FJR - all interstate - no way. We could easily doe that, but when we've come all the way from 'stralia Interstates are the last on our list to ride.

If it works we'd make it 2 days. From Spearfish I'm looking at going via Mt Rushmore, maybe ride through Sturgis just because we can, then SD Badlands. This would be a touristy day (there are 2 couples from Aussie, each on our own stateside based FJR's), so mileage would be relatively low, so would beed a place probably just East of Badlands - maybe Kadoka. That would leave about 540 miles of slabbing to get to La Crosse.

One alternative would be to take US-14 you can pick it up around Pierre south Dakota and follow that all the way to Rochester Minnesota. From there drop down on US-52 to Preston MN and take MN-16 to La Cressent MN which is right across the Mississippi River from La Crosse. Most of that won't be spectacular scenery but it won't be interstate and you get to see small and medium towns, lots of farming of all sorts. MN-16 runs through the Root River Valley and does have some very nice scenery and roads.

Well it might sound attractive. Don't get me wrong, I love farms...have farms in the family. But think of it as Australian wilderness...that just looks like corn or wheat. You'll be riding through America's bread basket.

Can't make it this year. Too many other things going on, including our 18yo starting college. You guys have fun.
