Seth and I slept in Chandler last night. 14 days on the road was a blast and great Father-Son time, but always good to be back home. 114F degrees in AZ today. Oh Canada CFR, I miss you already!
Yikes

It's 54 (forecast is for 61 and showers this aft) in Mont-Tremblant right now . C'mon back any time !!

Good to hear you made it home safely :)

Someone always has to be last I guess! We rolled into the casa about 3 hours ago. Total riding miles were 6,546.9 spread out over 17 days, although we had a downtime day in Perth, a day off at CFR, and 2 days with my son and his family near Milwaukee. That's our longest tour 2-up ever and Sylvia was amazing with her two new knees. Our longest day was 712 miles and we had several others over 600. We never rode in the dark (my night vision sucks). Our rain gear was on for most of two days but we never got wet. We did see a spectacular electrical storm as we rode past Bozeman, MT yesterday. Temperatures ranged from 48 as a low to 99 as a high and those were both ends of the same day. Many, many forest rats sighted, but no encounters of the intimate sort with Bambi - this time.

Too much slab on the way home, but the last 100 miles coming in beveled off that freeway flat nicely as we came up Highway 33 from Rock Creek to Kelowna.

I won't try to thank Chris and his team individually for all that you did to make CFR 2010 such a gas. You know who you are and I tried to thank you all face to face for your hard work. You've set the bar very high for the CFR 2011 committee in: Ripley?! New Brunswick?! I believe we achieved another crash-free rally did we not? I didn't even hear about any performance awards during the rally - despite the hooning of Parc de la Mauricie...

Wonderful to see so many old friends and to make so many new ones. Long live CFR!

(Oh and Chris, that prize for the longest distance riders? Don't worry about it - we didn't have room to carry anything else anyway!)

Dave, you made two great points: Unless someone comes forward, I also never heard in my many Rally conversations of a traffic violation incident or of a single FJR hitting the ground. SkooterG and Fairlaner need to come to CFR 2011 to change that statistic! Naturally, I hope that Richard only gets a $175 fine and that GregM only does one of his typical low speed laydowns! Very safe CFR event!

Scooty and Richard were both with us in Nakusp - yet that was also a crash-free rally. My guess is that the Canadian roads are too "polite" to let our visitors crash on them...

.... or of a single FJR hitting the ground.

Um, darling Don..... where were you when I arrived ?
I actually helped FJRGuy-Jeff right your bike; but you weren't at speed, so I never counted it as a road crash. Bust fell over twice from "altitude sickness" and I also didn't count that as him being drunk!

Glad to see that Dave and Sylvia & Don and Seth made it home safely but they are not the last ones home are they? Aren't Jeff and Lucie are still on their little adventure or do they ever go home? (I wish someone would send me an official right size CFR2010 sig icon and an ACM 2010 one also. I can't seem to right size the ones i copy)

This isn't an offical one, just one I made up. Sent it to Jeff who sent it up the food chain to Chris. Waiting for the okay to let it loose into the wild.

Grab this and upload it to your Image Host. Then do the cut'n paste thing into your sig. Make sure their are no image size tags!

Bust was drunk?!

Now Don.. who got a talking to for going down the water slide head first hmm? If you was sober you'd have been too scared to attempt that stunt!

The chair sunk into the soft ground.. That ain't no tip over. :blum:

Lucie should be back in Calgary tomorrow... I'm in Port Hope, having spent 6+ hrs in stop and go holiday traffic today... finally gave up.

A small incident with the trailer, otherwise all's well. Should be home later this week.

Griff

Guess I never posted up when I actually got home... oops! Got home last Sunday (27-Jun) afternoon.

Facebook 'friends' saw a pic of my first beer when I got home. Didn't even bother to take off my gear. :D

I did get a $125 PA in Quebec on my way out. Made up for it by doing a SS1600 the next day to get to free accommodation at a friend's place in SK. (1 PA is like a licence to speed the rest of the trip, isn't it? :dontknow:)

Talked to Jeff last night. Lucie arriving home by air today, Jeff draggin' his a$$ (i.e. - trailer) slowly across the States.

I believe Chris is talking to Iggy to get this hosted on the Forum server.

Canucklehead is stuck in Port Huron!

Jeff just left me a voice mail from the Bridge between Sarnia. ON and Port Huron, MI. His bike is Dead!

I called him back and he had pushed his bike, pulling the trailer, through customs and was waiting on a AAA tow truck to take him to the nearest Yamaha Dealer!

Symptoms sound like might be ground spider, Damn GenIIs :-D, but somewhat different. May be an ignition switch issue!

I'll keep y'all posted!

One thing Yamaha Canada told me was that they have zero documented Canadian ground spider claims (aside from mine, which from their perspective is undocumented because no dealer has inspected the machine yet).

Jeff; tell him to TAKE PICTURES

Jeff and Griff, I am definitely not making this a Gen1 vs. Gen2 joke issue, but I hope you two both consider new ignition switches and Brodie ground spider retrofits before embarking on the 2010 Three Flags Classic! As a three-time veteran of 3Flags, this is absolutely a Motorcyclists Event that you do not want to miss out on due to Yamaha FJR electrical gremlins! BMW R90S Diode Boards! jes' sayin'
