Am I reading this right? Are they riding in all 3 championships?

The AMA Superbike Championship Series is the overall series that includes Superbike, Superstock (1000 cc), Supersport (600 cc), and Formula Extreme (600 cc). They'll just be running Supersport and Formula Extreme. A local friend of mine is one of their mechanics. He does it on a part time basis (full time job during the week - flies in/out for the races).

Yeah...he's got it made...gets off the plane, gets the rental car (or is picked up), goes to the track, gets his fingernails dirty for a couple days, goes home and back to work.

I've only had 1 paying job at the track and didn't enjoy it as much as when I was doing it for friends.

Closest I ever got to being paid was free food and accomodation. I think the great majority do it for the love of the sport back in those days. I did. Different now though, but it seems much more cut throat, not sure I would enjoy it as much too much bitching. Or maybe I was just too busy to notice it all back then?
