I have tried a lot of different types of earplugs because my job occasionally requires me to be around loud machinery. My experience has been that earplugs with the rounded ends very quickly back out of my ears and then become totally ineffective. The cylinder shaped plugs are the only ones that seem to work for me. They stay in place and really damp out the sound levels. You might want to try a pair before buying a crap load of them.

I've been using that style for years, but I've always payed the higher price and bought them at Walgreen's tho. For me, they work very well, and are "all day" comfortable

My personal favorite for noise reduction and excellent comfort are these. Howard Leight LaserLite UF Foam Ear Plugs (NRR 32)

They may not be the cheapest but all day comfort with excellent noise reduction is more important. About 20-22 per box of 200 pairs individually wrapped.

HEAROS. Get them at Walgreens.
+1 on HEAROS...but I use 'em because I'm a day sleeper....
