Just fired off an email to Corbin alerting them to the ad and to see if they want to own up to it. Be interesting to see what their reaction is.

Got a response from Corbin just now. It reads:

Hi Ray. Never seen this myself either, I'll pass it on. Thanks J.R.

J.R. KIRCHNER

ASST. SALES MANAGER

If I hear anything futher, I'll post it here.

Just a little concerned... Hitting a really nasty bump or set of railroad tracks and you'd have Cuisinart chopped nuts in the smuggler.

Pass.

I gotta say, I'm amazed. Just got a response from Mike Corbin himself!

Hi Ray, I have not seen the photos of seat yet, but the story is true..

I try to ride new ideas to Sturgis every year...

The seat was whipped up at my tool box in an hour or so...

Worked extremely well in high temperatures...

Needs more development time before we can bring this idea out...

Kindest Regards, Mike

Since it came as a fwd from JR the asst sales manager at Corbin, I gotta believe its authentic. Of course if it only took him an hour or so, that explains the rough look of the item.

Although it may not be the prettiest seat ever, or liked by all; I gotta applaud his creativity. It seems to follow the idea of split bicycle seats by allowing more air flow and circulation. I'm sure there are some kinks to work out, but he may be onto something. That snakeskin pattern has to go though.
