Well, the ride went off on time as we pulled out of Mt. Horeb about 9:15. 2 others showed up with Tanya and I to run the backroads up to Rockton-saw quite a gathering of feejers sitting in a parking lot in Spring Green, anybody here? Made Rockton in time to get the first batch of chickens off their grill. It was still overcast and chilly at this point with electrics plugged in and the coffee mugs were hot. Went up to Ontario for the gratuitous run up the Wildcat Mt., then down 33 to 162 to the ole Miss.. Sky cleared and the sun peaked out- it warmed up pretty good. Crossed over to explore Iowa, at Lansing, to see some backroads on their side of the river and get some REALLY cheap gas!?($2.72) The town park that sits up on a bluff has a great view of the river valley and a WWI memorial as well. Park is named after a girl who won the footrace up to it, in 1851, on a steamboat layover. (boiler repairs or waiting for some fresh whiskey mash?) Came back across the river @ Prairie du Chien and booked home down 18/151 to finish it off with some more 2 lane. Just a tick over 400 miles and 10 hours. As Larry had mentioned in another thread it's great to have folks show up in full gear with great attitudes.

At least someone had fun. I got bronchitis but still finished kids bedrooms. Looks damn nice now. Will post pictures soon. Scored many points with SO and a kid. Now, I need to get over this illness really quick and get some riding done before Friday Due date.

Thanks for that ride report, Todd. Sounds like you guys had yet another GREAT ride. I actually had a four-day company function that I rode to in Green Lake. Came home yesterday afternoon. The tree's were just barely starting to turn, but I had about 150 miles of being reminded what great roads you have compared to the Chicago area....and I know those weren't even close to your best!

Who else was out there with Todd & Tanya yesterday?

The 2 that had joined us were from a local BMW club , but there were A Lot more FJRs out on the road. Very cool.

I'll do another one this Saturday through the Kettle Moraine, and up to Elkhart Lake for lunch at Siebken's if they're still open. Gotta make reservations at Osthoff for next year's AMA round June 6-8th. Most likely meeting point is at the La Grange Co. Store just south of Palmyra. When finalized for time, etc., I'll make a thread with Mapquest link.

Here is my report for what I did past weekend. It all started on Friday. Well, actually way long before when SO asked me to put a fan and a light in the kid bedroom. Finally on friday I got around to it. At the end of the day I started checking current wiring. Found no problems in the kids bedroom to my great surprised. Earlier in the year while repainting powder room found the light routed directly to the MAIN switch.

Project was going to involve routing new wiring and installing fan/light combo in both kid bedrooms. I decided to do a hardcore way and go with 1/2 inch tubing. Got the bender and having access to an attic was able to accomplish just that. Here is the final result.

It is all working as intended. Now if I only could figure out hot to install the vista cruise :dribble: I guess I have enough knowledge to install the lights and put an engine apart, but not how to install the Vista Cruise. Any help?

Wow! Beautiful work!

I had a '76 Vista Cruiser when I was in college?! Had the stars and stripes on the Owner's Manual and everything-" Spirit of '76 " , ya know.

Any plans for an October get together? Sorry I ahven't been making the rides, but life has been crazy. ON the other hand, the 2700 miles I rode in 4 days for CFO were great.

Yes please lets ride. Here is what kept me from riding last weekend

An hour after delivery. He is yelling:"Where is my ****y"? My second kid Shawn.

Our little girl is due November 25th, and my wife can't wait. As she just said a few minutes ago, it is amazing to be pregnant, but enough is enough. Shawn looks like he is a big boy. You know, Alex, you can post on the forum in the middle of the night, since you aren't going to be getting any long durations of sleep for a few months now. I'm not looking forward to that part. Congratulations!!

Hell yes, haven't you noticed how big my belly is getting? Luckily, I was told by another rider at CFO that if the Stich starts getting too tight, taking the hip and back pads out will get me some more room.

Hey Cougar, I thing the babies can go stay with uncle Wheaton for awhile, why we go for a ride. Sound good?

Uncle Wheaton to kids, "Kids...this is gasoline...those are matches...don't play with them. Next...this is a hayabusa...see this twisty thing here...it makes you go really fast..."
