I'm lookin towards mid-July or so before I'll be ready to sync the TB's.
Mid July sounds good to me. As long as it does not fall on Ride for Kids day. we can do both bikes and my steering at the same time. If anyone wants to show up and give a hand or just BS around pm for address.

If anyone went in on the HeliBar order and would like to get together to do the install let me know. I think she said that mine will be shipped mid-July. I'm also thinking of doing a complete TBS at the same time.

I don't know if you guys ever got a garage day organized or not

BUT

Next Saturday July 19, I will be in my garage in Evanston doing the following to my FJ:

Oil / Filter Change

Air Filter

Iridium plugs

TBS ( I have the sticks)

Shaft Oil Change

Fuseblock install https://www.fuzeblocks.com/

Back Off Module with an LED bar

PCIII install with the standard map

Hella FF50 Driving Lights, Garauld Brackets, and a DPDT switch (on w/brights, off, on alone)

I'd like to document some of it with pictures so I can post some detailed do's or dont's.

I think that's it for now. Unless someone puts together another group buy and causes me to spend more money (Lar  ) :p

Now here's what I can offer:

I live in a townhouse. We have a 4 car garage with parking right in front of each overhead door (essentially 8 spaces). Only one garage is mine and the space in front of it. However, my nieghbors are really nice (except for one tool, but he's harmless, looks exactly like Flanders from the Simpsons, wears shorts, a white t-shirt, and black socks with sandals... I swear)

I'm sure with a little heads up they'll let me take over the driveway and a two more garage slots. I can probably even get one or two of those canopy things to keep the sun off.

Tools (besides the nieghbor):

I think I have just about anything you'd need except for the "specialty" tools, like the wheel socket.

I have 2 wheel stands, not a lift.

I've got dremels, soldering irons, sockets, drills, saws etc.

Oil pan and a few extra empty plastic bottles for storing the old oil to take to the proper disposal place.

06+ shop manual

an 05 stock windshield and an 06 stock shield too.

A hose, buckets, and some towels (in case odot or Bustanut show up  )

Music

Things I do NOT have:

An air compressor (although I CAN get one if someone really wants to use one)

Tire Changer

Lift

Please feel free to ask if I have a specific tool. I don't want to over-promise and not have the left-handed-doohicky thingy.

I live about 10-15 minutes from Chicago Cycle and a couple of auto part stores if you really need something.

I MIGHT even pick up extra oil when I go get mine if you ask.

I'm not a mechanic, I dont have every possible tool or answer and I might even be a little dangerous.

I'm willing to fire up the grill, burn some brats and burgers, throw some pop in a cooler and have a few laughs and maybe learn something.

Anybody in?

I was going to offer my garage, but boss gave me a hole in the head reminding me that we have a 9 month old that needs his sleep time during the day. :)

So, I am up to go to anyone else garage. I have some tools and if need be I can probably disassemble the bike stand and deliver it before hand.

Let me know.

Don't make me remind you of a certain email you recently sent that resulted in me buying a new bike (and countless new farkles) :glare: So I don't want to hear any noise about the 270 bucks my group buy cost you. :p back at you!

I'm likely to be meandering throughout the state of Michigan next Saturday, but if those plans should change, I'm in. I never met a grilled brat, burnt or otherwise, that I didn't like

This is a GREAT thing, Marty. I hope others can make it.

What time are you thinking about? I have a bachelor party to hit that night on the S.Side @8 and then off to work the next day. I got a set of hella's I need to put on, and hopefully a PCIII!

I'll probably start around 9 - 10. I figure that way I have all day to run back and forth to get the inevitable missing washer.

I can open it up earlier if you need me to.

Do you have a metric ratchet socket set? Do you have a torgue wrench? Those are a bit bulky, but if you do not have them I can bring them.

I am basically want to do TBS and steering nut on my FJR. Everything else I am all good.

Ed, I will bring electric tester and zip ties, so we should be able to wire your lights.

Who else is coming?

Pm me the address please.

Hmm, I think i will pass on messing with anything on the bike 2 days before I leave for NAFO. I will have to do a maintenance day when I get back though.

You're welcome to come on by and add your .02 :D

And so is anybody else. I'll put directions up in the next day or two.

PM me for any questions and I'll shoot ya my email.

I'd love to go to NAFO but its my wife's birthday and I was out of town on our anniversery. That's a tough sell.

Give her a birthday party at the NAFO :) I am sure people there will help a put big bash on :yahoo:
I tried that last year, she said yes too! Didn't make it because of the big accident.

This year she's working and thinks we were jinxed last year, so no NAFO this year.

If I can make it, I will. I may stop by early am when you get rolling, or maybe very late in the day.

I've got a meeting in Wauconda from 1 -2:30, then could head that way.

I'll bring a torque wrench, steering bearing wrench and steering nut socket, in case more than 1 is trying to work at the same time. I'd be grateful to check my TB's if someone can show me how, since I changed the airflow / box.

-Jonathan

Oh, I don't mind leaving them if someone needs to borrow. I'm all around town all the time, and could work something out to get stuff back.

I'm at 2710 Prairie Ave, Evanston. #847-287-3563. Come on in the alley.

I'll be out there starting around 9am.

I'm going to try and stop by. This is a great idea and glad to see it's coming to life.

I've got a basic multimeter if you would like me to bring it. I've got a compresser too but I don't think you'll need it for anything on your project list so I won't worry about strapping it on the top rack.

I want to be there but not sure if I can. Bike is still sitting at shop with blown fork seal. Just getting one excuse after another. :angry2: If they finish early enough I will be there
