I realize there is a large contingent of lighter, faster, more agile bike fans out there(FJ-09s), however, two weeks ago I took the Wingabago 1800 out for its monthly battery charge. After a few miles I noticed the heated grips/seat were not working, off to the shop, heated comfort restored and oil changed for good measure along with final drive fluid. For the last two weeks I could not stay off it. Originally purchased for wifes comfort and to get her out a bit (long storey), I have really enjoyed the plush ride, weather protection all the heat and quietness, no ear plugs, listening to Cher and Abba, and had forgotten about all that smooth roll-on power. Sigh, last night I pushed it back to the back of the garage and rotated the FJR back to its position of first bike, today the FJR goes for morning coffee with the other retired older folk (before the rain arrives) along with the earplugs and heated jacket liner.

The big barge has a lot to offer and handles way better than most think. A decent rider on a wing can embarrass a lot of wannabees. I like having both so the wife can be comfy with her hip and leg issues and for sporty day rides I have the FJR. Now I just need a dual sport back in the fleet.

Choices?

Choosing between the Hondapotamous and the FJR would be a "Choice" based on need and purpose. I get that. I made that choice when I spent Dad's money back in '07. I have great respect for the big Honda and could see myself owning one, especially if Mrs. Redfish would ride with me. I don't see myself as being fortunate enough to have both parked in the same garage and having to make that choice daily. I envy having that problem.

Choosing between ABBA and Cher or... Ahem, uhhh other music, now that would be easy if anyone else could hear it. I would only listen to ABBA if no one knew I was doing it.

IF!!! Cher still looked the way she did in that video for "Turn Back Time" when she did her show on that US Navy battleship, there would be no question about that sort of choice.

Here lately my choices have been very limited.

Raining and below 45 degrees take Truck. Not raining and below 35 degrees take Truck. Any other weather, take FJR.

Since I am working straight nights and only see Mrs. Redfish for about 10 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening, there is NO choice at all in that regard.

I guess I better download some ABBA and Cher for my ride drive to work tonight.

Really? Cher and Abba?

NO WAY JOSE on Abba, but Papa Chuy Viejo would still do Cher twice and take her to Brunch: I'd look like a show pony on Cher! JSNS, Hubba-hubba-hubba!

You gotta realize that Don doing her twice is taping the picture to the mirror and using left and right hands. JSNS,Aye!

You sure as hell wouldn't be robbing the cradle.
Cher is just one year older than Papa Chuy Viejo, my 66 would go into her 67 just fine! I first saw her perform at the Fresno County Fair as a High School Senior in 1966 when she was still using her full name of Cher Sarkisian, she gave me a blue veined diamond cutting woodie so hard that the cat can't scratch it all of those years ago and Cher still turns me on and drives me crazy! JSNS, Hubba-hubba-hubba!

I know she looks great for being 93 years old, but that skin on her face and other places has been recovered, re-stretched, and re-pinned more than any custom seat manufacturer in the FJR world. In the middle of nailing her, I would be concerned that the paper thin skin somewhere on her body may suddenly stress tear and all the dust and bones would fall out.

JSNS to borrow a phrase.

Uh, Cav47: Old Michael O'Keeffe, ShinyPartsUp MacNamara and Papa Chuy Viejo are Irish, we would screw the Crack of Dawn if we could sneak up oh her! JSNS!

We used to have a saying for one of our high school friends who would "lay down" with anything.

We would say "Craig, You would screw a snake if someone would hold its head for you"

He always replied that "Beauty is a mere light switch away"

Typical High School stupidness. But we digress.

As said often many years ago ... when gazing at lovely women ....

noob bubblehead: "Are those real?"

qualified bubblehead: "Of course they're real. They're not natural, but they're real."
