Same here... Poor idle and didn't want to take throttle application the same way. Night and day difference after I fixed it.

That's what a friend discovered when the crank sprocket was off one tooth. Ran fine, but wouldn't idle. the crank sprocket is significantly smaller so one would expect being off one tooth to make a bigger difference.

Mine might have been one off at the crank. I had zip-tied both cams to the chain and only removed the intake cam. I think it could only have slipped at the crank which would put BOTH intake and exhaust off by one relative to the crank position.
