I'm eating my first of many Turkey sandwiches, the lights are up and I'm working on my christmas list. Having just gotten the FJR a few months ago, this is going to be a farkling christmas. The list so far:

Tech Spec Grip Pads

OES frame sliders (I know, I should have them already)

GPS setup (not sure about this one, I'm thinking an inexpensive unit in a see thru tank bag pocket)

Givi T470 small tank bag or such (see above)

Cee Bailey's Standard Contour Light Smoke Tint 23 x 4

Fenda Extenda

A Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-shot Range Model Air Rifle with a compass in the stock in a left side mounted leather fringe holster (I know, I'll put my eye out)

Now to think of some strategic unassuming but easily discovered places to display this list.

What's on your list?

Nothing beats a Red Ryder BB gun, got the same one three Christmas in a row.

Yea I was a naughty kid.

I initially tried the tank bag location, but the GPS got fryin' hot. Stuck a ram ball in the left side unused mirror mount and put it there. Slap a baggy on it in the rain. Worked well at NERDS. I use a Garmin 1490LMT; it has a huge screen which favors old eyes...

I just put a 1490LMT in my car. It is different enough from the Streetpilot on my FJR that I had to learn how to use it. I like the life time maps, but I have not found any use for the traffic warning thing.

Back the the Christmas list. For the first time since I bought my FJR back in 2005, I honestly don't have a single farkle to ask for.

I'm with you, Greg. I have a few little winter maintenance things to do, but no farkles that I need (or want) any more.

I believe that this is the big (make that huge!) benefit of hanging on to these bikes for a good long time, especially once you get them all dialed in to your liking.

So my Christmas list looks something like this:

Dear Santa,

For Xmas I would like for our three kids and their significant others, and our two elderly mothers to come on home here for a nice big roast beef dinner on Christmas day.

I'd also like a warm fire in the fireplace and some nice holiday music on the stereo.

Some pleasant conversation would be great too.

And, if you aren't too busy, could we get some World peace?

The best part is I think that Santa is gonna give me the first few things...

;)

The postal service gets kinda busy this time of year, better get that letter off to Santa real soon. And no Red Ryder BB guns, you'll shoot yer eye out!!

Didn't you hear? The Postal Service closed the North Pole office to try to save money. You'll have to email, text, or Facebook him.
