My in laws drove the run while their friends rode back in 2000. My in laws carried all the luggage. No more than 300 miles per day, sometimes only 200. Lots of stops, and parade formation with TONS of Harleys.
If you want we can ride the same route but at better speeds. I'll go with you, and I'm betting we could pick up lots of FJR riders along the way. Not sure I would like that many days at 60mph for that distance in a crowd like that.

I'd love to go back to the wall...
AJ, all of the AZ Beemers Guys you rode with last August up in the Colorado Rockies are thinking exactly the same as you! Dr. Bob (Army), Mudslide Miller (Air Force) and rest of AZB Veterans wan't to do a Run To The Wall just like you've described. All those Vets will be at SW-FOG 2014 in Silver City, NM; we will discuss ride logistics there! jes' sayin' and nuff said! Maybe set up a base camp hotel somewhere in the middle between lonerider, Blind Squirrel and Intech!

Now you're talking! This is what I was hoping might come out of this. I'd certainly try to join you away from the huge parade. There is only one thing that counts, and that is your tribute to the vets. Being part of the organized parade would be a nice way of sharing the journey for about a day. I mean why shouldn't the Cherohola Skyway and Blue Ridge Pkwy be part of your route to the Wall instead of I-40?

Count yourself IN mi Amigo Tomaso, I'll start a new thread under Upcoming Rides Nationally after the Western FJR Riders Rendezvous. Maybe book a Virginia hotel by Labor Day, I'd imagine anything within 50 miles of Washington DC at Memorial Day 2015 will fill up with their reservation early! jes' sayin' and nuff said!

Thanks Don! I hope the hacienda Tomaso in PA can host you on the way home for a cooling swim, some BBQ and whatever else we can do. We only have 3 extra bedrooms, so overflow might have to camp by the pool, or use the local hotel.
