One of the nine glorious days came to the Pacific Northwest and you should have heard the whining about the heat, we actually saw 90 degrees at one point! Ok, maybe it was me doing the whining but when you exercise ATGATT and all you have is the normal Northwest fare - it gets hot. Made me consider MTGATT or even STGMTT. But...we have a good crew and everyone legged it out in proper apparel until we found snow and were saved from spontaneous combustion. We did a 275 mile circle around Mt. Rainier that hit two passes, dense forest, dry country, snow, and of course - some great roads.

But the real question is, what's up with Hudson and his newest form of transportation? Notice the smug look on AuburnFJR's face and the quizzical look on Panman's. Not sure where their relationship is taking them...

We were cranking down this beautiful road towards Mt. St. Helens until we hit this travesty, turns out a bridge is out.

It was a good chance to take a break and stretch the legs before heading up and over White Pass.

Someone else had picture duty for White Pass, our excellent lunch at Whistlin' Jack's, and the slope up to Chinook Pass. Here is what we found at the top of the pass:

Tough getting a good picture of Mt. Rainier with very few pullouts so I tried a 2 foot wide gash of sand and bike eating gravel facing the wrong way on the highway. Not smart, but wanted the picture such that it is with just a bit of the mountain in view.

We ended the group ride in Enumclaw and went our separate ways for there. I was a lazy picture taker this time around and hope the others post up with some good shots. I'm pretty sure Hudson was busted candle shopping. We did have a Niehart sighting at Whistlin' Jack's and I can't even bring myself to tell you the company he is keeping behind our backs. It was great to see him and a good day to see all manner of bikes and riders. Only two and a half weeks until CFR, a couple more warm up rides and we are ready to go.

Great pics, looks like a fun time! Thanks for posting

More Pitures:

Starting at Beamer Reamer's, had excellent breakfast (thanks MRs. BR)

First stop was at the road block on NF25 road south of Randle. Bridge is out up the road let's hope the Forest Service is actually getting it replaced already sinces it is the main North-South route behind Mt. ST. Helens

Gas stop at Packwwod - already 90 degrees at noon

escapefjrtist, hudson, beamer reamer and Mrs. hydrating - did I say it was hot?

Great ride great company and wonderful weather. Still too much snow to get into Mt. Rainier from the Stevens Canyon side to get up Longmier and Paradise Lodge. May be another month before you can access from the SR 123 side.

I can say the trailer handles well up to a buck 20 when passing on short straights. B) HD riders were not too happy when you pass them and they see the trailer as you accelerate away from them. ;) I had it loaded pretty good with ice chest and some gear to do as a test run for a 10 day tour and camping trip later this year with the Mrs.

My oh my, I got caught with my not so all the gear gloves on, and in my PJ's to boot.

How did you get away with 275 miles? I was pushin 480 when I got home! I'm still worn out, I'll post some pic's tomorrow.

Am I still alive? That trip off the top was quik for the five of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What was that? A 15 car pass? I was surprised to see you behind me and shocked to see AuburnFJR complete with trailer right with us. No wonder the Hardley guys gave us the finger(s) at the bottom.

Had more to do with the little rocks on the yellow stripes that the trailer kicked up as I came back in line at a high rate of speed. It was funny seeing his babe on the back beat the **** out of him when he tried to keep up with me. B)

Auburn - that picture is hilarious. Panman in PJ's and riding boots giving a little Gear 101 course for Mr. Cruiser. Not sure if he was being taken serious judging by the grin.

It was actually pretty comfy in the back of Auburn's trailer, what with the stocked cooler and comfy pillow. I slept most of the way up until I was awoken from my nap by the sound of an ole lady on the back of the Harley we were passing, yelling at her man: "Dammit Earl, slow down, your mullet is caught in my teeth."

Neihart, I can understand rolling with the Italians, but cruisers? That's just whoring, plain and simple. You will do anything for a pie run.

Fun ride yesterday, I was 430 miles from door to door. This run finally sealed the deal on new tires for CFR. The back is just off the wear bars and the front is on wear bars in a couple spots... I'll see if I have any pics that can add color to the group and get them up in the next couple days.

Now whom is this Niehart person we speak of... ;) Good to run into you Dave.

Dave, did ya notice words under my duc?
I forget. Was it:

PIEWHORE

NYTNG4PI

IFLY4PI

PIE GUY

or

PIEPIMP?

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

We figured out a few potential bumper stickers for Auburn's trailer:

Delay of >5 Vehicles Behind Harley Illegal

If you can read this, you're not riding a Harley

WARNING HARLEY RIDERS: NEXT TAVERN >50 MILES

or my personal fav:

Mullets Flattened While U Wait; Line Forms in Back

Hudson -- You are one twisted dude...I can't wait for CFR and the stories that will come out of that adventure.

480 miles of great roads and good friends, even though the two Dave's wonder about this ex Harley rider who wears his PJ's.

Thanks for the pics and report. Let a brother know next time you guys go and I could meet you all for lunch. You guys and gal on the "wet" side know how to ride and have a good time. :)

Dave

Great ride report and AWESOME pictures. Now I'm longing for a trip to the PNW. Thanks for taking the time and efforts to share with us.
