Any suggestions on what to use on the factory vinyl seat? My experience with factory vinyl seats has been that if you use the wrong stuff, you end up with a permanent stain.

Thanks,

Jack.

Try "Amour All"....make it nice and shiny  then go for a ride and test your brakes :dribble:

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have done this........... :upsidedwnsmiley: .....................once.

I use "ProtectAll". It doesn't significantly slicken the seating surface, looks good, doesn't leave any white residue behind and has U.V. protection. You can also use it practically anywhere else on the bike's surface.

I dunno.....

Because of my off-beat and rather curious nature, I was wondering exactly what you did to stain your seat so it had to be cleaned with a chemical?????? :dribble:

THAT might be a really good story.

Mines not, I got wax on my seat and cannot get it off(trying various chemicals). Every time I think I have it, when the seat dries it's still there. :(

I decided to let it just wear off, the trip to NAFO ought to take care of it. :yahoo:

I recently found something new to me. I'm sure others on here have discussed it but I recently applied some "Mothers" Back to Black on my 05 in an attempt to remove the wax discoloration from the Black. It's a great product, I've now put it on the bike everywhere. It even makes the hand hand control areas look like new. I would suspect it'll work on the original vinly seat but I'd test on the backside and others here may be able to add more or recommend other products. It definately works on the rest of the bike. Has anyone else tried this product?

I just absent mindedly set my Armor All rag on my Connie seat while doing something else. The next time I hit the brakes -- Let's just say the gas tank and I had a moment of unexpected, violent intimacy. The gas tank came out of it better than I did.

So, yeah, don't use Armor All.

A warm iron and a micro-fiber cloth will lift the wax. Key here is "warm" iron not "hot". Melt just the wax... ;)

I once had a puckering Armor All experience. My buddy and I were washing our bikes, I finished and went inside to clean up. He thought he would help me out and do my seat like his Harley saddle.

I got on it in the parking lot and was soon doing the Superman thing with both legs out behind me, grabbing some more throttle as I went.

Yeah, "Back To Black" works pretty well. It doesn't last too long (maybe a week or two, depending on rain, heavy dew, etc.) but it does bring hard-vinyl back to the original appearance.
