I have discovered that when stopped at an intersection where I have to really turn my head sharply right or left to look, because of the angle, if I close the right eye when looking left and the left eye when looking right I do not have to crank my head around as much.

He disagrees.

Me, I'm not sure.

Hmmm.. the clarity of sight when turning one's head to full lock is probably proportional to the size of the probosis hanging between one's eyes so there may be some support to this method. It works well when looking through a telescope too..

^^^ Yes.

It also takes away depth of perception with one eye closed.

So, if you close both eyes you don't have to turn your head at all.

Depth perception may be important when judging right-turn-on-red opportunities.

In most of south Georgia, you can decide to go with both eyes closed: there's so little traffic you can hear the pickup truck coming from a quarter mile away.
