You may be thinking of the US Quiet Zone in West Virginia. It's for real; no fooling around. Wikipedia (a mentally stable source) entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_National_Radio_Quiet_Zone

Wonder if somebody's planning an EOM ride around there? Only 90 minutes from Lewisburg.

Green Bank radio telescope. There is a lot of great riding in the area and neat things to see. Green Bank is worth the stop. Then head up to Cass and Snowshoe, 219, and the Highland Scenic Highway. Oh! We will be riding the area this weekend!

My "weekend" starts at 8:00 AM on Sunday morning after working a 10 hour shift overnight. So I spend most of a normal weekend sleeping. That's gonna make going on rides with the rest of you folks a bit problematic. Oh well.... You guys can go on rides on the weekends, tell me about them, and then I can retrace your routes on Monday and Tuesday.

Duane is a good rider and knows the area well. Worth making the connection, I promise.
