Co2 adjustment

Are you trying to solve a problem, or just experimenting? I have heard that if you richen the mix, the engine will run a little cooler. I don't have a heat issue, but if I can make it run a little better, I'm all for that. I tried unsuccessfully to do the jumper mod. I couldn't get the CO screen to come up, so I changed it back. I think I must have done the jumper mod incorrectly, and have not tried since.

Thanks guys

Got the info and decided to leave well alone after I printed it out.

The issue I was trying to resolve(incorrectly I should add) was the FJR idling slower and stumbling on take-off, after restarting the engine at the 1500 - 2000 feet level.

Mmike gave me an intelligent explanation for it (me not being that "up" on the subject  ) that prompted me to leave it alone.

Ok, something to know for all you newbies is that the CO2 adjustment feature is not necessarily the dog's danglies. It can have an effect, but not necessarily a huge effect. A PCIII is really the best way to go about adjusting fuel mixture.

Now I am not smart enough to go into all the details on this, but lucky for you I am smart enough to find an old thread that has more freakin info on this topic than you will need in this lifetime. ;)

Read the posts by "Torch". Dude knows his ****. Word.

Does this mean I'm not smart, or just smart enough to know I'm not smart at what I don't know

Have to agree about Torch though - a plethora of information that guy has!

True dat! But then, the poor ******* sits in an ice box for nine months! Gives him lots of time to contemplate the issues! ;)

Actually, I think he is a really smart guy and well read about the technical issues conscerning bikes in general and the FJR specifically. We should be thankful he has the time to sit, in the great frozen North Land, and contemplate how to translate the information into simple terms for the rest of us. :D

rogdeb starts it all with:

I have searched, honest -- just cannot find it.Where can i find the info for adjusting the Co2 level via the instument panel?
Let me guess why the search came up empty. ;)
Sooter and GAPS jump in to help:

the CO2 adjustment feature is not necessarily the dog's danglies

CO2? I thought that was a CO adjustment.
Ya, the CO2 adjustment sure does suck. Now, on the other hand the CO adjustment may just be the dangles.

We know what good ol' Skoot meant, but he did go on to warn us in that same post:

Now I am not smart enough to go into all the details
:haha:
To err is human but to forgive is divine -- except here in the Forum where some smart ass will always jump on even the smallest gaff.

rogdeb -- Is your "restarting the engine at the 1500 - 2000 feet level" consistent or was it a one time deal? Next time it happens try turning the key off for a second, twist the throttle, release, and then restart again. While not a solution it will help diagnose the problem. This action will separate a 'hard' failure like a pressure sensor from a 'soft' failure like intermittent TPS sensor or sticking linkages.
