So is it just me, or did Colin Edwards get robbed by the media? Everyone's all "ohhh Rossi crashed, but he got back to 14th" and no one seems to say "Colin got bus-stopped to dead last at the crash, then made it all the way back to 4th, then to 3rd when Nicky's Honda broke"

Just sayin' he needs a little more lovin' than he's gettin'... He isn't in the points, but he still should get some kudos.

I'll gunny that +1. I'm sure he likes showing up Rossi whenever he gets the chance.

I dunno. I was watching the race and they were praising his efforts left and right.

Of course Rossi is gonna get the press, though. He was the points leader and his ability to pick it up and collect valuable points makes it a story.

I've been a fan of Colin's for many years (I saw him win every race he entered at the 1991 Race of Champions in Daytona), but, his efforts on Sunday kept him in 5th place in the championship standings. Although it was a great feat, it had no championship implications. This is his 6th year in MotoGP and he has yet to record a win.

Colin might have a legitimate gripe, but on the live feed he got plenty of kudos. Maybe it was edited out on the commercial delayed feed. A tremendous amount is edited to make room for all the sponsors.

I think the one who got hosed by the media was Randy dePuniet. They blamed him for the crash for a minute or two... he had taken out the great Rossi, virtually handing the race to Pedrosa or Stoner.

When they finally got the replay up, they realized that Rossi is the one who had lost it, and he took dePuniet out of the race entirely. Of course they apologized to dePuniet publically several times, but still the original reporting blamed him for messing up Rossi's season when it was Rossi who screwed up.

IIRC, when they showed the replay, the announcers said something like 'it was not Randy dePuniet....this time' implying that he has taken riders out, but, this one wasn't his fault.

True. A lot of these guys seem to have trouble finishing the races, and dePuniet has been in that group.

"Can't get no respect."

As usual Randy your post is to the point and correct.

It is his 6th year (where did that go?!), but he is having his best year i think. I like the guy a lot and would like to see him do well. He is always smiling and has a huge following in the UK. He was based in Lincoln when he was in WSBK and made many friends here.

Rossi was quoted in the British bike press as saying "I was a ****-head".
