Plan on riding out from Greeley, and meeting some friends along the way. Any tips as I really don't want to take I80, and may go the craig/mountain route.

Anyone else planning on going this summer from colorado?

Moto GP is a blast! Hwy 50 across Nevada is much nicer than 80.

Perhaps riding 40 to the 191 split in Utah and drop down to 6. Jump on 15 south in Spanish Springs down to 50. Just a few miles west of Austin Nevada take a left on Nevada hwy 722, it's a nice road which will bring you back to 50 near Middlegate.

Once you get to Ca you will have several scenic passes (Hwy 88,4 or 108) to choose from to get through the Sierra's on your way to Laguna Seca.

After much though , it looks like I will be heading the northern route, through reno for a meet up and then down to monterey.

I will be heading out there from the western slope. Right now plans are to go to WFO in Idaho first, then make way to Monterey from the north. If WFO gets cancelled I might explore other routes.

My traditional route from here is down to Flagstaff, across 40 to Laughlin (cheap overnight to break up the HOT desert), across 58 to Bakersfield and then 58 to the coast and up Hwy 1. I still have not heard about the progress of the slide on HWY 1 but this route may not be possible.

I have done 50 across Nevada (expensive fuel in some locations) but once you get to Tahoe there are lots of options through the sierras. I prefer 88 because of light traffic, good road conditions (last time I rode it) and great scenery. Options are also there to hit 49 south before making your way west on 140 to 152.

What kind of tickets do you have for the MotoGP. I would encourage anyone to do one of the hospitality package deals. Flagroom at turn 4-5 or any of the others are well worth it IMHO. Most include parking and the food and beer has been good out there. If you dont go for one of these, the Parade lap ticket includes MC parking in a prime location and is a great deal for just the parking.

So lots of crazzyness has happened, it looks like I will go I80 through Wy->salt lake->reno->tahoe->laguna. Im staying in Archery Camp ground and Bought the standard 3-day pass with paddoc pass. We usually hang out in the cork screw with everyone else, and move around as the race goes.

Man, MotoGP at Leguna! I've been thinking about this but haven't committed. What are folks doing for lodging while at the race?

I stay at my sisters house in Carmel Valley. Hotel rooms are $$$$$ during the event with some people riding in from as far away as Santa Cruz and San Jose. Looks like camping at the track is still available.

We camp every year at the track. Its one of the cheapest options and places you right in the action, and you don't waste time in trafic at the end of every day.ill be at archery this year hit me up if your camping and ill save a cold beer for you.

Denver, it is a blast, we are heading out of northern colorado on wensday and taking the northern route,as going through vegas and barstow on a bike is crazy. If you interested PM me for more info, well worth the trek and some funny stories.
