One of the local riding groups here in phoenix is planning a week-long set of rides centered on Vail, CO. Wish I had the time and money for it, but I have their routes saved in Google Maps for when I can get around to it. They use Meetup and are named "Phoenix Motorcycle Riders Group" if anyone wants to join and plan to meet them in Vail for a day or two. I believe the dates are 6/11-6/20 with 2 days each to and from Phoenix.

If it helps any (and I hope it does) I have a couple of RRs on Colorado, The Big Ditch, and some other stuff Out West. They are "Redfish Climbs Colorado" and "Redfish Hunter Goes West." My pics are not as good as Tyler's but they may help.

Your pics are quite great, too. And your entertaining writing made for a great read. I had looked a little for your ride reports at first unsuccessfully, and once I found Mark's I used that for my planning. But I found both today and read them in detail this afternoon, enjoying them very much. Thanks for giving the exact names that made them easy to find. Here's a link to your report on North Rim and CO that could benefit people looking for help in the future.

I feel like you confirmed a lot of our current plans, but I am second guessing skipping the roads you took up through NM into CO as they look really good. I was just going to try to get to Moab as quickly and easily as possible to be able to get there in less than 500 mile days to keep it fun for the wife. It looks like that only adds 25 miles to our route, but might add 2 hours according to Google at least.
