Colorrite touchup pens

I've recently gotten a couple bag lids where the rider has used a Colorrite touchup pen to try and fill in the scratches. From my perspective the results were less than satisfactory.

Has anyone used the pen and was pleased with the outcome? :huh:

In my experience ColoRite is a poor product all together, especially the 07 Metalic Black Cherry. Dosen't match well, the metalic doesn't pop like the rest of the bike does. How much do you charge to redo a side bag in Metalic black Cherry? And do you use ColorRite paint in general for all the painting you've done for these fine folks on the forum?

I haven't used the pens but I did get the kit from them to paint my topcase. The color was a good match but I didn't have to touch up any existing bodywork. A mismatch might be more noticable with the colors right on top of each other.

I have all their FJR bodywork colors and most original parts with which to compare them to. I've found most colors match fairly well except for the '05 Galaxy, which IMHO, is too blue as mixed by Colorrite. I always seem to have to add quite a bit more purple to it. Their Cerulean is also a bit light so I darken it a bit. I haven't had to tweak any of the other colors.

I used one on my 2003 and the results were terrible. The scratches looked better.

I used boith the colored pins and the small bottle with a brush on my 07. Very disappionted with the color match. Never will buy from them again.

Same results for me, so I use it on areas like the bottom of the fairing. When I had a bag lid painted my painter here couldn't get the mix he needed so I bought Colorite Black Cheery and it turned out great. Could be the painter though! The paint was very expensive too.

Thanks for keeping me anonymous. I'm one of the guilty parties. It filled the scratches ok, but, looked like ***. For anyone considering one of these....don't. For 15 each for the color plus clear plus shipping for something that's going to look like ****, spend a few bucks more and ship it off to Garauld. Just got my bag lid back and it looks fantastic. Thanks!

My results were far from satisfactorily. Me wheels got trashed badly while in transport to me several years back..colorite suked.

As a goof I bought an "off" silver color pen from a local art shop. The results were far superior..
