Tim - I would agree with you regarding performance needs.  The 1/4 mile number is kind of neat, but in reality, what I want is torque between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm.  That is where I ride 99.5% of the time.

 
The Conk14 took styling cues from Chrysler (never a good thing).

Perhaps there are 4 times as many Connies for sale than FJRs because nobody wants one. :tonguesmiley:

Just kidding, I never even sat on a Concourse so I can't compare. I owned a 2-cycle Kawasaki in the 70's and enjoyed it, but it was obviously cheaply made and I decided then to stay away from the brand for future motorcycles. I'm sure things have changed in the past 50 years.

 
IMO Kaw has always been about the power from the motor ("bench racing" for most folk) than anything else: ergos, build quality, etc.
