Doctor Throckenstein !!!
I cheated death and disfigurement another day! Another couple hundred fabulous miles with the temps closing into the 70's by the time I got back at around 10 PM.
antvq, I'm glad to finally find out there's some benefits to being short. I stayed down out of most of the wind, but definitely not in the cone zone. That shield stayed pretty far down a good part of the day.
motorgod, I could not do your job. LEOs, EMTs, and ERs have to deal with some gruesome **** . And I have seen the carnage first hand. Don't want to see it again. You guys got me thinking, that's for sure.
What surprises me is that no one has jumped on the extreme out of the wind topic. As in if you wanted to get out of the wind, get a gold wing, or drive a cage. At least I was spared that ridicule.
escapefjrtist, you are right! Wondered who would hit on that one.
Not only did I get fried again (scalp has a nice red patina!) but I had a wierd first time experience. Going along a two lane highway, all by my lonesome. Quiet, cruising bliss. WHAP! What the F..? A bug of perfect size and shape lodged in my nostril. It was like it swooped in at carrier landing speed and my nose hairs were the third wire. Didn't hurt a bit, but all of a sudden, I couldn't breath out of one side. What the f...?! So I did the ejection procedure an purged the tube. Little bugger landed right on my gas tank and stuck to the gas tank lid. It was not pretty. I had to euthanize him.
Too bad. Had he had his gear on, he probably could have survived.
And thank goodness, it wasn't a june bug. Maybe someone is trying to tell me something?
