  • ...If you're temporarily parked outside somewhere a good little FREE anti-theft trick, bring a stubby flathead with you and remove your clutch lever. No clutch lever and they aren't riding anywhere.
Actually that wouldn't be true. My first bike was a '74 Kaw 750 H2 and one day while about to leave work, my clutch cable broke. Being young and nearly penniless (cheap), I rode that bike for nearly a week without a clutch before I could install a new one. I'm sure I didn't do my gears any favors though.

I suppose a wheel lock might be a good deterrant. But who wants to put one of those on ever time you run inside the gas station for a quick relief? Probably the best anti-theft trick is to hang onto the high mileage, well worn '05.

In defense of Candy Apple Purple 07's everywhere.

The beauty of having highly refined taste is that you don't fall victim to having what every other dullard wants/has.

The reason the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry are the most stolen every year is that every idiot has one.

Hell, if I wanted to look like a dufus I guess I also could have bought a Galaxy Blue FJR.

Wait a sec, wandering in to whambulance territory here.

Suffice it to say, there is a reason Yamaha only produced the Purple People Pleaser for one specific year. There just weren't that many Baby Boomers with exquisite taste to appreciate them.

Now, speaking for myself, I just wanted a bike no self respecting thief would be caught dead on. Dr. Rich and HRZ's reasoning may have more to do with impeccable taste.

YMMV

(Of course, if you have an '07, nobody would want to steal the purple sonofabitch anyhowz.)

From the GoldWing forum but it may work for your FJR too.

"Among other things; one of the ways I protect my Harley's is by using Goldwing Covers on them!"

When was the last time you heard of anyone stealing a WIng?
