Even though the 50L will mount to the regular polymer base its worth the extra $80 for the aluminum one. I didn't think the 50L was available painted for 2015 Liquid Graphite, only the 2016 blue.

Meh. Just order the Raven colored one. It'll match the trim on your gas tank!

I bought a Givi case (52L, I think) and their 357 rack here on the forum, which of course is the cheapskate's way to go, but it's perfect for me--traveling, Costco runs, all kinds of stuff. Not really talking about this brand vs. that brand or size or color, just passing along a good idea from the seller, BigDogRaven. He put a retaining pin through the bottom of his case and right through the mounting rack. There's a hole in the pin and a clip goes through the hole. That thing's not going anywhere. No concern about whether it's locked on right or anything else. Easy on, easy off, if necessary, though I just leave it on most all the time. This doesn't compromise the integrity of the box or it's waterproof-ness, since it's on the bottom. Whatever you get, however you mount it, not a bad idea to secure it on there.
